Who am I?

Get to know the new Director of Physical Preparation

Hello all. My name is Brandon Pigg. I am the new Director of Physical Preparation at Priceville High School. I was previously at Madison Academy, where I was in charge of the middle school and female strength and conditioning programs, assistant track coach (100 and 200m sprinters), and I was an assistant with the male strength and conditioning program. Here's a quick rundown of my qualifications. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. I have my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Mississippi State. I am also nearing completion of my Master's degree in Exercise, Sport, and Movement Science from the University of Memphis. I also completed a 6 week course taught by the strength and conditioning/sports medicine staff of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

what each camp covers

Strength Camp

The strength camp will cover the basics of how to navigate common lifts such as the lunge, squat (goblet* or Zercher*), deadlift (trap bar* or dumbbell*), assisted single leg squatting movements (skater, pistol, step down), chin-ups, rows, overhead press, and bench press (barbell* or dumbbell*)
* = Dependent upon ability
We'll use principles of motor learning to help your child understand not just what good form looks like, but how it feels to nail every cue and how that yields strong and safe technique."But wait. My child can't do some of the lifts you mentioned." Of course they can't. Last year, only 5 of my 8th grade girls could do a chinup. By the end of the semester, almost 20 of them could. The main goals of this camp is to ingrain proper technique into them and teach them how to safely and effectively progress that over time. Which is exactly why, after the 8th camp date ends, I'm going to give a coupon to receive my Guide to Youth Strength Training Manual for free if your child enrolls in either the "Strength, Speed, and Agility Bundle Camp" or the "Strength Only Camp." That manual will retail for $99, and you'll get it for free.

what each camp covers

Speed and agility camp

The Speed and Agility Camp is all about becoming more athletic. Speed, reactivity, fluidity. That's the name of the game.When it comes to speed and agility, there are lots of strategies to get from Point A to Point B. All roads lead to Rome, but some roads have potholes, wreck traffic, and a few tractors that top out at 15 MPH.At the speed and agility camp, we'll cover
✅ How to set speed up by accelerating with good form from both a static position and out of a change of direction maneuver
✅ Change of direction strategies that are safer and cover more ground
✅ Top speed mechanics that promote faster speeds and safer hamstrings
✅ Laser 40 yard dash testing on the 8th session
✅ After the 8th camp date, you'll get a coupon to receive my Guide to Youth Speed and Agility Manual for free. Speed development doesn't stop when this camp does. That's why I'm giving you this manual to keep the ball rolling. This will retail at $99, but you get it free
"But wait. My kid plays on the line/first base/volleyball/etc.. Why do they need speed work? I'm glad you asked. If I could only have athletes do one exercise, it would be training speed. Getting faster requires every muscle in your body to be more coordinated, better at firing (turning on), and better at relaxing (turning off). Getting faster is getting more athletic. There's a reason the linemen drafted in the first round are always fast.
